Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Cowboy Christian, LLC ("Cowboy Christian," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through joincowboychristian.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language, because that is how we intend to operate.
Not Insurance
Cowboy Christian is a health cost sharing network and is not an insurance company. Membership does not constitute an insurance policy, the sharing of costs between members is entirely voluntary, and sharing is not guaranteed. Nothing on this website is a solicitation of insurance.
What We Collect
- Email address: collected when you join the wait list through a signup form on this site.
- Visit analytics on our home page: our home page loads Vercel Web Analytics, a measurement tool from the company that hosts this site. Each time the page is opened it sends Vercel the full web address being viewed. Vercel stores that as a single entry, along with the city the request came from, the page that referred you, and your browser and device type. Vercel also builds a device identifier out of your request, using your IP address and browser details, so it can tell repeat visits apart. These entries carry no name and no email address, and we do not connect them to the wait list. The other pages on this site do not load it.
- Your IP address, briefly, when you use the sign-up form: to stop automated scripts from flooding the form, we count recent sign-up attempts from the same internet connection. What we send to Upstash, the hosted database service that holds the count for us, is a one-way scrambled version of your IP address rather than the address itself, and we set the count to expire about an hour after it is created. The count is not stored with your email address and we do not use the count for anything else.
- A record of each request to this site: Vercel, the company that runs the servers for this site, records every request made to it and forwards a copy to Axiom, a log storage service we use to watch for errors and outages. Each record holds the web address that was requested, including anything after a question mark in it, the page or link that sent you there, your browser and device type, and technical details such as whether the request worked and how long it took. Until August 4, 2026 the copy sent to Axiom also carried your IP address. We turned that off, so records made after that date do not carry it there. The sign-up form sends your email address inside the request rather than in the web address, so your email address is not part of these records.
We do not collect health information or payment information through this website. The information we collect is described above, plus whatever you choose to put in an email to us.
How We Use Your Information
- To send you launch updates, founding member information, and community emails.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To measure how many people open our home page and where they came from, so we can tell which of our messages and which referral sources are working.
- To protect the sign-up form from automated abuse.
- To keep the site running, and to find and fix errors and outages.
What We Never Do
We will never sell your email address or share it with third parties for their own marketing. No spam, no list-renting, no gimmicks.
Cookies and Your Browser
We do not use cookies to advertise to you or to follow you across other websites. Our own code sets no cookies, and the analytics script on our home page stores nothing in your browser.
Service Providers
We use a small number of providers to operate this site:
- Vercel: website hosting, plus the visit analytics and the request records described above.
- Brevo: the service that holds the wait list and delivers wait list updates.
- Upstash: the short-lived counter that rate limits the sign-up form.
- Axiom: storage for this site's request and error logs.
We do not authorize any of them to use your information for their own marketing, and each is bound by its own published privacy and security commitments.
Your Choices
- Unsubscribe anytime: every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- Request deletion: email us at privacy@joincowboychristian.com and we will remove your email address from our lists. Visit analytics entries and request records are not filed under your name or email address, so there is no record there for us to look up and remove.
Data Retention
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the wait list is retired after launch. The sign-up counter described above is set to expire about an hour after it is created. Axiom keeps its copy of the request records for 30 days, which is also when the older copies that still hold an IP address are deleted. Vercel keeps its own request records, which do include your IP address, and it decides how long to keep them. Vercel also decides how long it keeps the visit analytics entries, and we cannot delete an individual visit entry from its system.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and revise the "Last updated" date above.
